Omah Lay is Nigeria’s new act to watch out for. At just 23 years of age, the singer-songwriter-producer has managed to attract multitudes of fans with his introspective and hedonistic music. The musician first gained prominence in 2020 after his single ‘You’ went viral.

What is Omah Lay real name? His full name is Omah Stanley Didia. The artist was born on May 19th 1997 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. He was also raised in Port Harcourt.

For his schooling, Lay attended Comprehensive High School in Rivers State. He then proceeded to join the University of Port Harcourt.

Lay’s grandfather was a percussionist for the legendary Highlife singer Celestine Ukwu until his death in 1976. His dad also took up drumming. This contributed to Omah’s love for music.

The artist began producing music when he was 15 years old; he also rapped at the streets of Marine Base in Port Harcourt.

Omah Lay used to write music for music artists, but he decided to step up to become an artist because he was not given much credit for his writing efforts.

Omah Lay was first signed to a record label called KeyQaad in June 2019. The move made him leave Port Harcourt for Lagos for the first time. He is currently signed to the Dvpper Music record label.

On May 22nd 2020, Omah released his debut EP, Get Layd. Get Layd contains five solid tracks with no feature. The tracks are: Bad Influence, You, D8mn, Lo Lo and Ye Ye Ye.

He began working on Get Layd in August 2019, and the first song he recorded on the EP was Bad Influence.

Omah’s recent success has allowed him to be the first artist featured on Africa Rising, Apple Music’s new program, aiming to promote African talent. The program features an artist selected by Apple Music’s editorial team on the continent and uses the full force of the platform to amplify them to music fans in Africa and around the world.

In June 2020, Apple Music featured him as the New Artist of the Month.

Nollywood actress, Victoria Kolawole accused of allegedly being bi-sexual and for snatching a man from his wife

  Fast rising Nollywood actress, Victoria Kolawole has been called on social media over allegations that she is bi-sexual and also for snatching a man from his wife. ‘Are you a woman?’ – Actor Lege Miami blasts Nkechi Blessing for criticizing him despite the apologies he tendered for supporting Baba Ijesha

  Amidst the ongoing controversy over the alleged rape allegations again actor Baba Ijesha, Nollywood stars, Lege Miami and Nkechi have blasted eachother on social media. Taking to the comment section of the video to react, Nkechi Blessing wrote; “Mr Man pls shut the fuck up already” Lege Miami who was very pissed with Nkechi’s comment replied her in a very nasty way and also reminded her that she is not a woman and it won’t be well with her.
