It’s so depressing to learn that a celebrity has passed away. The year 2021 has been a difficult one, with many celebrities passing away. The film industry continues to lose many actors and actresses to death.

We’ll show you pictures of some Nigerian celebrities who gave up the ghost in 2021.

1. Ada Jesus


She is the first person on this list since she passed away just a few hours ago. Ada Jesus, a 22-year-old comedienne, died today, April 21st, after a battle with kidney disease. The film industry has suffered a significant loss as a result of her passing. Her husband, mother, and child were left behind.

2. Mrs. Folake Aremu (Orisabunmi)

Orisabunmi, a veteran Nollywood star, passed away on January 5th, 2021. At the age of 61, the talented Yoruba actress passed away. Her death has left a void in the film industry.

3. Jim Lawson Maduike

Jim Lawson is a veteran Nollywood actor who is best known for his fatherly roles. After complaining of body pains, he died on January 8, 2021. We really missed him; he’s such a calm performer.

4. Sotonye Green

 

On January 15, 2021, the upcoming Nollywood actress died. Her death was caused by problems with Covid-19. May her gentle soul find eternal rest. 

5. Ernest Asusuz

 

Ernest Asusuzi was a gifted actor noted for his distinct acting style. On January 27, 2021, he passed away. The cause of his death remains unknown.

6. Bruno Iwuoha

 

For three weeks, this cool and collected seasoned actor was in a coma. He never awoke from his coma and died as a result. His death was heartbreaking, and many people wept.

7. Rachel Bakam

 

She was fighting an illness and sadly passed away on April 13th, 2021. Before her untimely death, the glamorous anti-human trafficking ambassador was very dedicated.

It’s so sad that these Nollywood stars have passed away. They will live on in our memories for the rest of our lives. My wonderful celebrities, may you rest in peace.

Simi snubs Nigeria as she names another West African country, ‘giant of africa’

    Popular Nigerian music star Simi has snubbed Nigeria for Ghana for the tag, ‘Giant Of Africa,’ in a recent post on her Instagram story. The mother of one said this in reaction to Germany choosing Ghana over Nigeria as the West African centre for Global Health. Simi took to her Instagram story to write the caption; “Lol this is the second country I’m seeing doing this. ‘GIANT OF AFRICA..’ ” See her post screenshot below:   This is happening after American microblogging and social networking service, Twitter opened their African head quarters in Ghana. That move caused uproar on Twitter NG as they feel Twitter were meant to have their headquarters in the country considering the fact that Nigerians are one of, if not the highest users in Africa. In reaction to this, Nigeria’s minister of information Lai Mohammed condemned, saying Twitter’s move wasn’t a commercial one. He also said Nigerians caused it as they always paint Nigeria bad.  

Governor Ortom suspends traditional chief, youth groups over gruesome murder of widow

  Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has ordered the suspension of a traditional chief, Ortar Agwa Mnyange Kwahar in Buruku Local Government Area of the state, all youth groups and their activities, over the gruesome murder of a widow.   LIB  reported that Mrs Becky Shaade Aondozungwe Nyihemba, was burnt alive in her home by suspected thugs in Mbagen community, Buruku Local Govt Area on March 5, 2021.   The widow, a nurse by profession, had a week earlier raised the alarm about threat to her life by unknown persons for reasons she did not mention. The State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Mrs Ngunan Adingi, who disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday, March 27, said that the suspension of the chief followed the crisis in Mbatyough Council Ward, Mbagen in the council area which led to the death of the widow.     The statement read,   "As a result of the recent crisis in Mbatyough C...
